AGHPF provides technical assistance to strengthen quality systems and provides knowledge transfer in meeting internationally accepted standards in clinical laboratories, environment, health & occupational safety, risk management and management systems.

The Foundation is an ISO 9001:2015 Certified organisation with a faculty of experts that identifies the needs of laboratories at various healthcare levels and develops customised solutions to ensure effective and sustainable knowledge transfer to meet changing needs and evolving standards.

Strengthening Laboratory Systems towards Accreditation:

The renewed fight against HIV makes the need for quality laboratory services―even more critical in the response―especially with the global ‘90:90:90’ goals that call for 90% of all HIV-positive persons to be diagnosed, provide antiretroviral therapy (ART) for 90% of those diagnosed, and achieve viral suppression for 90% of those treated by 2020. Laboratories enable health workers to test and find the HIV positive people, and monitor their treatment through viral load monitoring.

For any laboratory seeking to attain or sustain accreditation, AGHPF aims to strengthen five elements that are core of Quality Management systems:

  • Building capacity for document development, review and issuance towards ensuring measurement traceability
  • Supporting maintenance and monitoring environment
  • Training personnel
  • Establishing and verifying acceptance testing for new equipment
  • Ensuring that appropriate methods are used.
